Join us for a public meeting, sign a petition, and do something to protect our neighborhoods, habitat, and sacred lands in South Texas. Here is a list of some of the issues our network focuses on:
Stopping LNG in the RGV

For about ten years, the Rio Grande Valley community has resisted the construction of LNG export terminals and pipelines at the Port of Brownsville. If built, the LNG projects would release pollution, bulldoze habitat, and destroy sacred Native sites.
Resisting SpaceX Colonization

SpaceX construction and operations are destroying wildlife habitat, spurring gentrification, and preventing community members from accessing Boca Chica Beach. Residents are speaking out about protecting the coastline from flammable rocket launches.
Free RGV Bekah

In 2022, Police broke into the home of community organizer Bekah Hinojosa and arrested her for allegedly spraying anti-SpaceX graffiti below a mural paid for by Elon Musk. She is still facing a trial and class C charge. Local activists won’t allow politicians in the pocket of SpaceX and big corporations to attack community members speaking up about the harms of rocket operations.
Protecting Sacred Lands & Sacred Sites

The Carrizo/Comecrudo Tribe of Texas are the original Native people from the Rio Grande Delta region. Across the region, sacred lands and sites that are vital to the Tribe are under threat of being bulldozed by the fossil fuel industry and other buildouts.
Just Recovery Kits

South Texas is primarily a low-income community of color that is prone to climate change disasters and man-made disasters such as hurricanes, flooding, power outages, and more. We work with families across the region to assemble and distribute our Just Recovery Kits (bug spray, solar charging packs, water filters, + more) that help people prepare, survive, and re-enter homes because of disasters.
Stopping the Fossil Fuel Industry Build Out

The Port of Brownsville commissioners have plans to attract more polluting fossil fuel refineries and the petrochemical industry without consulting impacted neighborhood residents. Our network shares information about the harms of these industries and shares opportunities for residents to speak up.
Rio Bravo Office Space

The Rio Bravo Office Space is a community co-working space in downtown Brownsville, offering residents a place to host meetings, panels, film screenings, art workshops, and more for social justice issues. Contact us for more info.
Partners & Allies

We work alongside many organizations, community members, and Indigenous people to challenge the status quo and create the world we want to live in. Here are some of our friends.
Colonization Tours

Educational tours of the area for community members, organizations, reporters, journalists, researchers, and academics, etc., of SpaceX, border militarization, fossil fuels, and infrastructure known as “colonization sites.” Other versions of these tours will also educate locals and assist in monitoring these destructive projects.
