Thank you for RSVPing to join our panel discussion in New York City.
Background:
In their unrealistic quest to colonize Mars, techno fascists and Elon Musk are actually colonizing public lands and Indigenous sacred sites in South Texas. Using his private company SpaceX, Musk is funneling billions of dollars of public funds to bankroll his pet project to blow up rockets in the middle of ecologically delicate and unique wetlands. SpaceX’s rocket testing is restricting public access to the beautiful “Boca Chica Beach,” where families have gathered to enjoy the environment for generations. The original people of the land, the Carrizo Comecrudo Tribal Nation, recall this beach and the surrounding area around the mouth of the sacred river, known as “Rio Grande/Rio Bravo,” in their sacred creation stories. SpaceX’s rocket testing activities are also polluting the land and the bay, having burned down more than 60 acres of wildlife refuge land, and releasing pollution into the waterways and nearby low-income neighborhoods.
Listen to our panel of Native and frontline community members resisting the ongoing colonization of the land in the name of white supremacy and space fantasies.
