DESCRIPTION: Join us for a protest to protect our home from LNG and SpaceX outside the State of Brownsville City Address, an event sponsored by the Rio Grande LNG company. Last year, the community won a lawsuit that canceled the permit for Rio Grande LNG. Yet, the LNG company keeps destroying wetlands near Port Isabel, and the Mayor of Brownsville keeps supporting the company and allowing them to sponsor community events. Even without a permit, Rio Grande LNG just announced that they want to expand the size of the fossil fuel facility to process larger quantities of toxic methane gas. If allowed to be built, Rio Grande LNG would be a massive fossil fuel project with pipelines, flares, and storage tanks of gas and be the biggest polluter of cancer-causing pollution and greenhouse gas emissions in the Rio Grande Valley. On Wednesday, we will demand that Brownsville and Mayor Cowen cut ties with Rio Grande LNG. We must kick LNG polluters out of the RGV!
SpaceX continues to pollute land, water, and air for its wasteful, failed rocket demolition projects. Now, they want to steal Boca Chica Beach away from all of us by controlling who can and cannot access Boca Chica Beach, our public beach. Musk announced to the world he is a nazi with his nazi salute at the presidential inauguration celebration. Why do the Cameron County Judge and the Mayor of Brownsville still support Musk and SpaceX? Throw out SpaceX and denounce nazis!
